Borgarhellir cave
Borgarhellir is the longest cave in the Gullborg lava field in the eastern part of Snæfellsnes peninsula. 150 meters away from the foot of Gullborg begins a 50 meters long, 8 meters wide descent, which turns into 670 meters long lava tube. Visitors of Borgarhellir cave have a unique opportunity to see stalactites. Most of them are 6 - 8 mm thick and over 1 meter long, here was found the longest stalactite in Iceland - 124 cm long.
