Flóki cave
Tvíbollahraun lava field was created probably during the first eruption after Iceland was settled in 874. The lava field has many caves, but the largest of them is Flóki. This lava tube is 1096 meters long and was signed on the map in 2003. It is advisable to visit Flóki cave with a guide, because it forks in different directions and can be difficult to navigate. In most parts of the cave spaces are really small and visitors should be prepared to crawl. Colorful and interesting lava formations inside the cave make this lava tube extremely attractive and worth visiting.
