Vík
Vík or Vík í Mýrdal is a town in the south of Iceland, located around 180 km away from Reykjavik. Although in the town live only 291 people, it is an important service center for the inhabitants and visitors, as it is the biggest settlement for some 70 km around. Vík is located on sea shore next to the wonderful black basalt sand beach with cliffs and caves. Offshore lie impressive basalt rock stacks. The cliffs in the west of the beach are home for many seabirds, especially puffins.
