Ljótipollur lake

The lake is located in the highlands of south Iceland, fairly close Landmannalaugar mountains and its name actually means 'ugly lake'. Ljótipollur occupies the southernmost crater of the long eruptive fissure, which was created during the eruption in 1477. The crater lake has an area of 0,43 km2 and is surrounded by impressive red - colored banks.
