Skógafoss waterfall

Skógafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in the country being 25 meters wide and 60 meters high. Like Seljalandsfoss it falls over cliffs of the former coastline, which now are about 5 km away from the current coastline. The waterfall produces huge amounts of spray, that´s why a single or double rainbow can be seen by the waterfall on sunny days. Next to Skógafoss there is a Skógar Folk Museum, where the collection of tools and equipment, handicrafts, old buildings, books, manuscripts and documents gives a chance to learn more about the history of South Iceland.
